Techniques for Teaching Vocabulary

There are many ways of conveying the meaning of award ,such as:
A-visual techniques:
These techniques include blackboard drawing,wallcharts,photographs,flash cards,and maps.These techniquesare very useful to conveying the meaningof concreteitems such as the objects in the classroom.
B-verbal techniques
When dealing with abstract items of vocabulary ,verbal techniques are very useful such as:
-use of synonyms and definitions
-use of cotexts:texts,anecdotes,and verses
-use of antonyms and contrasts

C-The use of a dictionary
D- Translation
